Spring makeup is all about being bright
and beautiful. Rocking the pink lip trend is super feminine and makes
your pout look pucker ready. Likewise, color blocking with eyeshadow
makes your eyes stand out and makes people really take notice. Both
makeup trends are easy to apply and are totally worth the little
effort they require.
Pink Lips
Before you even think about swiping
your pout with the bright shade, make sure your lips are ready. This
means getting them smooth and removing any dead skin that is making
your lips dry and rough. Create an exfoliating paste by combining
olive oil and sugar, then rub it on your lips to slough off the nasty
skin. Rinse the mixture off completely with water, then allow your
lips to fully dry.
The key to wearing pink lipstick is to
pick the correct shade for your coloring. If you have cool undertones
– you can see pink or blue under your skin – go for a blue-based
pink shade. However, if your color is on the warm side – you've got
some yellow notes – look for something that has orange or red tones
in it.
When wearing pink lipstick, you've got
to take it easy on the eye makeup. Wearing too much on your lids will
compete with your lips and make you look too done-up. Wear eyeliner
and some mascara with your pink pout and you're good to go.
Color Blocking
Color blocking on your eyes makes them
bright, bold and oh-so-gorgeous. Choose hues that match your eye
color to really look amazing. Start by applying an eyeshadow primer
on your lids. This helps the shadow stay on and creates a nice base
for the makeup to sit.
Now apply a bright-colored eyeshadow –
think blue, green, purple, orange or pink – from your lashes to the
lid crease. Then choose a lighter, shimmery color to press into the
crease and a bit out, to follow the natural structure of your eye –
this means going out to the side, as well. You should see the color a
bit below your brows and out towards the sides of your eyes.
For the finishing touch, take a bright,
complimentary color and sweep it under your bottom lashes. Go past
your eyes some so that this color meets the other shadow and blend it
together. Apply a bit of mascara; however, you don't want it to
overpower the shadow.
These spring makeup trends are gorgeous
and will take your look to the next level. The most important aspect
of wearing them is to do so with confidence – that will make you
look better than any kind of makeup would.
